In mid-July 2013, IMIS hosted a technology seminar in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Speakers at the seminar, in addition to IMIS, were ORBCOMM, Kelvin Hughes, WildAid, InfoPront and the WWF. The seminar was opened by Señora Doctora Maria del Pilar Cornejo de Grunauer, Secretaria Nacional De Gestión de Riesgo, República del Ecuador. “The seminar was a complete success”, said Diane Flatt, the IMIS USA Business Manager who coordinated the seminar. “All speakers contributed to the display of cutting edge technologies in the maritime arena”, added Mrs Flatt. “The unveiling by IMIS of MariWeb™ V6, which can provide AIS data in respect of more than 130,000 vessels, simultaneously, was a special high point in the seminar, which proved to be an excellent event for the maritime community in Ecuador to view the latest developments in maritime technology.”
